Arts Journalism Day at the Guthrie

Guthrie

The Minnesota High School Press Association and Journalism Educators of Minnesota, in cooperation with the Guthrie Theater, will hold an arts review writing contest in February of each year at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.

Students selected to participate in this contest will attend and report on a performance of “Tristan and Yseult” by Carl Grose and Anna Maria Murphy on the McGuire Proscenium Stage, tour the Guthrie theater facilities, learn from a professional arts editor/writer and write a review of the performance on deadline.

Interested writers should submit the entry form by the due date, and Twenty-five selected participants will be contacted and given final details concerning the contest.

Each participant must pay a $20 fee to cover the tour and lunch.  Do not mail entry fee with application. Information about where to send payment will be sent to those selected to attend. Advisers may reserve tickets to accompany their selected students.

The winner will have his or her story published on the MHSPA website. Direct questions to Laurie Hansen, event coordinator, at [email protected] or (651) 351-8128.
